Did you know that in Liguria you can go whalewatching? Thanks to specific whalewatching activities, the Ligurian Sea is the right place to look at the horizon and hope to see some cetaceans, as dolphins and whales.
The Ligurian Sea is a part of Santuario dei Cetacei, a protected marine natural area established in 1991 covering about 100 thousand square kilometers. In front of our marine shoreline, there are eight different species of cetaceans.
The activities take place in the highest respect of the specimens and the marine habitat. As you move away from the coast you will be immersed in a world of quiet and silence. A marine biologist will give you the necessary information to fully understand the experience. You can go whalewatching from spring to autumn. In special times of the year it is even possible to do it at dawn or sunset.
You only have to choose the port of departure: the boats leave from Genoa, Camogli, Andora, Laigueglia, Imperia, Loano, Savona and Varazze. You will need a lot of patience, but we are sure that you will enjoy the experience!
