At the border with France you find the Maritime Alps, with the highest mountain in Liguria and the deepest cave (Melosa).

Pian Cavallo is one of the most important naturalistic areas in Liguria, with big woods. Monte Saccarello, Monte Frontè and Monte Monega are among the highest peaks in Liguria and contain big grasslands and splendid panoramas.

Very scenographic are Monte Gerbonte and Monte Toraggio-Pietravecchia, which contain a variety of habitats. Woods, little ponds and waterfalls where you can walk and immerse yourself in nature are present in the State-owned Testa d’Alpe Forest and in the valley of the Barbaira stream.
