European & UNESCO Global Geopark

It is the biggest park in Liguria, one of the areas richest in biodiversity. The Valle Gargassa has little ponds, canyons and rock formations in which water has hewn out spectacular shapes. The Deiva Forest is visitable with a ring itinerary that goes through big woods.

Don’t miss the 1120 Tiglieto Abbey, the medieval Spinola Castle at Campo Ligure, the seventeenth-century Desert Hermitage in Varazze, the nineteenth-century Geremia Fort on the Masone high ground.

Also interesting are the historic villages of Sassello and Rossiglione. You must taste the Sassello macaroons, the delicious honey and the mushrooms.
