A name known all over the world, synonymous with elegance and dolce vita. Around the famous little square there flows a desire for holiday

It is one of the villages symbolising Liguria and tourism in the Mediterranean. Famous all over the world and all to be seen: here is Portofino, a sea village built around a bay with high and colourful houses set against the dock and the famous Piazzetta.

Here the sea that reflects the colours of the houses, the sky and the vegetation entertains the yachts, boats and ferries that arrive and set out again. All in perfect harmony: this is Portofino.

Reach it by sea on the boats that frequently set out from the sea promenade at Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure, or from Camogli and Genoa. Walk through the village and among the boutiques selling famous brands.

We recommend a pedestrian itinerary that climbs towards Brown Castle from the famous little square on foot, with a park immersed in greenery, up to the lighthouse: from here you will have an unforgettable view of the splendid bay. The first stage is the San Giorgio Church (12th century), St. George being the patron saint of Portofino, celebrated on April 23 with the traditional bonfire in the square. On the parvis there is a white and black risseu built with beach stones, typical of Liguria. To the side there is the cliff sheer over the sea that goes down into the waters of the Marine Reserve. The whole territory is part of the Portofino Regional Nature Park. You can also visit the museum en plain air in the garden behind the Portofino Marina, which has sculptures by world-famous contemporary artists.
