Liguria wine regions during grape harvest season, enjoying strolls in the historical vineyards and tasting wine in cellars

Autumn is the perfect season to visit the colorful landscape ranging from red to ocher yellow of its rows of vines.  Rossese of Dolceacqua is one of the most well-known wines. You can taste this ruby red wine with notes of rose and black pepper - which was appreciated also by Napoleon - during one of the visits organized by the Gajaudo wine cellars.

The Albenga hinterland is one of the main wine regions of Liguria. The Viticoltori Ingauni Cooperative and the Liguria Regional Wine Shop in Ortovero are worth a stop. Several itineraries skirt the vineyards used to produce excellent bottles of Ormeasco, Pigato and Vermentino.

In this season, in the Cinque Terre vineyards you can watch vine-growers doing their age-old job patiently. In fact, besides the breathtaking views along the paths, the real surprise are Cinque Terre vine-dressers: the vine-growing heroes, whose character reflects the typical Ligurian genuine and persevering attitude.
