The event called La Repubblica del Gusto is devoted to slow food presidia and to the world of the sea

From the big vessels of the Crusades to the small gullets of fishermen, Noli has kept its feet in the water.
Fishing is done with the old tradition of the trawl net, which in 2014 became a Slow Food presidium, with cultural, tourist and economic value. You can assist at this rite during the event called La Repubblica del Gusto (The Republic of Taste), in the first weekend of September, devoted to slow food presidia and to the world of the sea.

Two fishermen on a small gullet go off into the gulf and put a big sack net down in the water. On the shore the others wait for the signal. When this arrives, on shore people start to withdraw this big net only with the strength of their shoulders and arms.
