Over time it has been transformed from a sleepy fishing village to a major seaside resort town, well-known throughout the area

Cavi di Lavagna is a village in the Municipality of Lavagna, located in the Gulf of Tigullio on the Riviera di Levante. It preserves the distinctive traditional style of Ligurian villages with its colourful houses. A four-kilometer-long beach is bordered by a promenade with bars and ice cream parlors, attracting families with children, cycling enthusiasts and rollerbladers. The Lavagna beach has been awarded a Blue Flag every year from 2003 to 2009. Dotted with bathing resorts, the wide beach with its low shoreline allows easy access to crystal clear sea making it an ideal summer holiday destination for families with children. And the village itself is not to be overlooked with its caruggi (narrow lanes), quaint shops and lovely promenade, where everyone is out for a stroll on the frequent sunny Sundays during wintertime.
