San Bernardino is a hamlet in the municipality of Vernazza, in the province of La Spezia, some thirty kilometres from the provincial capital. This inland hamlet is situated at an altitude of 385 metres above sea level and is part of the Cinque Terre national Park.
This hamlet is the starting point of numerous paths, most importantly the Via dei Santuari, which can be travelled on foot, on horseback or by bicycle and connects the places of worship in the five villages.
Thanks to its position, San Bernardino is the perfect place to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Guvano bay and the entire coast, with stunning views of the distinctive terracing and vineyards of the Cinque Terre landscape.
The mild climate means that the Cinque Terre area can be visited at any time of year.
