A commercial centre to go shopping in but above all the self-proclaimed capital of Ligurian gastronomy. Famous above all for Recco focaccia with cheese, pansoti (stuffed pasta, similar to ravioli) with walnut sauce, and trofie pasta with pesto, plus of course good fish.
There are many events, all linked to the gastronomic traditions: at the weekend after Easter, in the hamlet of Megli the focaccia feast is held; on the last Sunday of May at Recco there is another focaccia feast, with distribution of plain focaccias or focaccias with cheese. During the year the restaurants organize initiatives on themes that are always very interesting. Lastly, at Recco there is the Fire Feast, on 7 and 8 September, in honour of the Madonna of Suffrage, and it is characterized by firework shows on the sea and shooting of old mascoli (Ligurian mortars) organized by the different village districts with gastronomic stands.

Something famous is the Recco water polo team, the most titled team in Italy and the world. At the Recco motorway exit the road on the side of the mountain takes you towards Avegno, Uscio and Val Fontanabuona, which runs parallel to the coast in the immediate hinterland. In the sea direction you immediately reach the village centre.
