Set in an enchanting and unusual landscape context, with the peninsula that divides the “two seas” of the Bay of Silence and the Bay of Fairytales, Sestri Levante is one of the capitals of holidays, but also a town of art and culture.

Certainly the first reason why it is worth making a trip to Sestri is the sea with its beaches of thin sand that serve as a frame to the two bays. Then at Riva Trigoso there is a splendid beach from which fishermen set out every day and it is the land of the traditional “leudo rivano”, a Latin sailboat.

At Sestri you can take sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and swimming courses. There are also plenty of opportunities for those who love diving, starting from dives to discover the wrecks sunk off Sestri during the Second World War.

Hans Christian Andersen, a guest and great estimator of the place in the nineteenth century, has given the name to a Sestri Levante literary Prize, which at the international level has earned it the prestigious title “Children’s Town.” Then if you want to venture into the historic area, know that it is very beautiful and full of opportunities for shopping, as well as restaurants worth discovering.

Sestri already existed at the time of the Romans and therefore also has important monuments and places to visit: the seventeenth-century Capuchin Monastery, the medieval San Nicolò dell’Isola church, and the Portobello palazzos. From Sestri a beautiful path starts that leads to the promontory of Punta Manara. In the evening a lot of eating places winkle at you along the promenade and towards the harbour, as well as discos and a thousand opportunities for meetings.
