The fishermen’s beach, the village that Dante mentioned in the Divine Comedy, blue sea rich in fish, an adventurous history of alliances and challenges, Noli could not fail to be one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and once had the title of Maritime Republic. The shore in front of the village has the colours of blue and intense, clean and accessible azure. Towards Capo Noli the sea becomes more and more transparent. Here some secret little bays offer Caribbean views, while the cliffs sheer over the sea are a paradise for climbers. The fishermen of the Gulf fish with the old tradition of the trawl net which in 2014 became a Slow Food presidium.

You will fall in love with the perfectly preserved historic area, enlivened by shops, artisans, ice cream parlours and fashion shops, where all year round there is a holiday atmosphere. To protect the village there was the Castle of the Del Carretto Marquises, which looms up with the fortifications that run along the Monte Ursino and has survived in its original form since 1522. On the slopes of the mountain there is the old Bishop’s Palace, today a hotel that preserves frescos, inscriptions and period furnishings.

The San Paragorio church is a little apart and not very known, but deserves a visit. It was built between 1239 and 1572 and is one of the most important monuments of the Region. In white-pink stone, it has a Romanesque layout; inside, it has walls frescoed in the 15th century and a 12th-century Byzantine crucifix.
